Verse of the week:

" But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you."

Pastor's Thought for the Week:

“Thou hast the words of eternal life"

“From that time many of his disciples went back, and walked no more with him. Then said Jesus unto the twelve, Will ye also go away? Then Simon Peter answered him, Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life. And we believe and are sure that thou art that Christ, the Son of the living God” (John 6:66-69).

Jesus had just finished His teachings on the bread of life and for some this was a hard saying and they rejected the teachings and left. Most of what Jesus speaks to us is hard sayings and we either reject or follow.  He knew His disciples complained as well and addressed their complaint and when only the twelve were alone with Him He asked the question will you also go away.  It seems that Peter answers for the group and makes a profound and powerful statement when he says, “thou hast the words of eternal life.”  This is one of Peter’s noble confessions for it confirms that Jesus was the Messiah. The words of Jesus were life-giving words and words of His personal dignity.  Jesus and Jesus alone have the words that lead to life and life eternal. He is the word that leads to eternal bliss!

Do you need a better and different life? Why not come to Christ for He alone has the words and instructions that lead to life and life eternal.  Eternal life is a quality of life with no other that can compare.
